About Clean SHiFT
Everyone cleans.
Everyone eats.
Everyone uses chemicals.
Clean SHiFT is a team from the University of Washington's Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Science Continuing Education Program (DEOHS CEP), the University of Washington Bothell's School of Nursing and Health Studies, popUPjustice, the Washington State Department of Ecology, the Washington State Department of Health, county health districts (King and Yakima) and students from Heritage University and the University of Washington that have worked together with the food truck industry and owner/operators to develop a 6-step toolkit to help with the transition to safer chemicals for cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing in food trucks. This toolkit represents a potential solution to address health and environmental concerns associated with the use of traditional cleaning chemicals.
